I had a great time attending the BSides SF event this year and getting to network with like-minded people who are passionate about security. As always, there were a lot of great talks, but this year I made the choice to do more CTFs on the event floor since the talks are recorded and will pop up online in a few weeks time. There were a lot of great village workshops and events including the Cloud Village, IoT Village, Adversary Village and Bug Bounty Village. Overall there was a lot to learn directly from the instructors and facilitators at the villages. There was also no shortage of vendors selling hardware and other goods, I rather enjoyed some of the offerings on the floor that included hardware badges and other security tools. There were also the usual festivities in the evening, and this year’s theme was on musicals which provided a great a capella troupe singing at the event. Overall, I had a really great experience and look forward to seeing everyone again at next year’s event!
