Skill Requirements

This course assumes the learner is a beginner and requires no background knowledge – although a basic knowledge of Linux commands is helpful, we will address this in a later lesson.

This course assumes no prior knowledge and will attempt to provide an “over the shoulder” hands-on approach to put the learner in the role of an attacker and gain valuable skills to perform a basic penetration test. We will attempt to balance practical skills with theory to avoid information overload.

Hardware Requirements

Windows or Linux laptop or desktop is recommended. To run Kali and Metasploitable virtual machines on your host without issue would require at minimum 8gb of RAM and around 20-30gb of storage for both virtual machines. It’s recommended to have 16gb of RAM and 256gb of storage on your machine to be able to run the labs without issues.
